CM Devendra Fadnavis Flags Off Buses and Floats Carrying Devotees to ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Programme
Nashik, Feb 2026 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday flagged off buses and a ceremonial float carrying devotees from Nashik district to the ‘Hind Di Chadar’ programme being held at Kharghar in Mumbai. The event is being organised on February 28 and March 1, 2026, to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
The buses and float were formally sent off from Ozar Airport, Nashik, symbolising the commencement of the devotees’ journey to the historic religious congregation.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, MLA Rahul Dhikle, Divisional Commissioner Dr Praveen Gedam, Kumbh Mela Development Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Nashik Metropolitan Development Authority Commissioner Jalaj Sharma, District Collector Ayush Prasad, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, Additional Municipal Commissioner Karishma Nair, Assistant District Collector Arpita Thube, former MLA Balasaheb Sanap, Regional Committee Co-Chairperson (Banjara and Labhana community) Ravindra Gangole-Naik, Regional Committee Co-Chairperson (Sikh community) Gurmeetsingh Sandhu, District Coordinator of the Dharma Jagruti Department Sanjay Laddha, and several other officials and dignitaries were present.
The Hind Di Chadar programme at Kharghar, Mumbai, commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, revered for his stand in defence of religious freedom and human values. Devotees from Nashik district will be travelling to the event in 62 buses of the State Transport Corporation and 118 private buses.
The flag-off ceremony reflected the state government’s support for facilitating the participation of devotees in major religious and cultural events, while also highlighting the spirit of unity and respect for India’s diverse spiritual heritage.
