Gandhinagar, February 2026: Finance Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Gilles Roth, and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
With 115 banks, assets under management exceeding 8 trillion euros, and a strong presence in investment and financial services across nearly 80 countries. In this context, Luxembourg expressed its keen interest in further strengthening and expanding financial relations with India and Gujarat.
During the discussions, Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat is a state with prudent financial management. He further noted that the state is prepared to take the lead in Green Energy, Green Financing and Green Growth, and held deliberations to ensure that Gujarat benefits from Luxembourg’s expertise in the fields of Green Bonds and Green Financing.
He also emphasised to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of Green Growth through renewable-green energy and Mission LiFE, promoting an environment-friendly lifestyle, through municipal green bonds as well as long-term infrastructure and sustainable development initiatives.
Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Mr. Gilles Roth stated that the MoU signed between IFSCA and Luxembourg’s CSSF at GIFT City has further strengthened financial cooperation between India and Luxembourg and enhanced Gujarat’s global financial connectivity. He also expressed Luxembourg’s keen interest in increasing investments in the international financing sector at GIFT City.
Chief Minister also extended an invitation to the Luxembourg delegation to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit scheduled for January 2027, as well as the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences for South and Central Gujarat to be held in April 2026 and June 2026.
Luxembourg Finance Minister Mr. Gilles Roth extended warm invitation to the Chief Minister and the delegation of the Government of Gujarat to visit the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
This meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Industries Commissioner, Shri P. Swaroop and Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Vikrant Pandey.
