CM Rekha Gupta inaugurates sewer, drainage, and road projects in Shalimar Bagh

New Delhi, February 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Friday visited the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency to inspect and inaugurate several development projects aimed at improving basic civic infrastructure. She reiterated that the Delhi government remains committed to strengthening essential services across every part of the capital and ensuring that projects are completed on time and to high standards.
During her visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated the laying of a new sewer line in the PU Block of Pitampura. Once completed, the project is expected to resolve long-standing sewer-related issues in the area and provide residents with a cleaner and more efficient drainage system. She also launched road and drain construction works in the QU Block, which are intended to address the recurring problem of waterlogging at the local level.
In addition, Gupta inaugurated road strengthening works along the Outer Ring Road in Pitampura, covering stretches including SU-TU-MU, TU-SU-UU, and LU-QU. She said these upgrades would improve traffic flow, enhance commuter safety, and further reinforce the city’s urban infrastructure.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timelines and meet quality standards so that residents can benefit at the earliest. She added that the government is placing special emphasis on the integrated development of sewer systems, roads, drainage, and other urban infrastructure to promote cleanliness, accessibility, and a better quality of life across Delhi.
