₹15.1 Million in Financial Assistance Provided to Workers

Raipur, March 2026 : In line with the vision of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai to realise the commitment of “Empowered Workers, Prosperous Chhattisgarh,” the Labour Department has taken effective initiatives during the financial year 2025–26. During this period, a total amount of ₹1 crore 51 lakh 57 thousand 630 was transferred directly into the bank accounts of 3,106 workers and their families in Mahasamund district through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under various welfare schemes.

Under the Didi E-Rickshaw Assistance Scheme, one woman beneficiary was provided an e-rickshaw with a subsidy of ₹1 lakh, enabling her to become self-employed. Through the Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, financial assistance amounting to ₹18.60 lakh was extended to 93 pregnant women.

Under the Chief Minister Construction Worker Death and Disability Assistance Scheme, 29 affected families received financial support totalling ₹29 lakh. The Naunihal Scholarship Scheme benefited 2,502 students, who collectively received ₹50.12 lakh as educational assistance.

In addition to these, eligible beneficiaries also availed support under the Worker Tool Assistance, Siyan, Noni Empowerment, and Bicycle Assistance schemes, further strengthening social security for workers and their families.

Beneficiary Mrs. Leela Mahanand, who received an e-rickshaw under the scheme, expressed her gratitude to the state government for helping her achieve self-reliance.

These initiatives reflect the state government’s continued commitment to improving the livelihoods, security, and empowerment of workers across Chhattisgarh.
