Chandigarh, March 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced the launch of a 24-hour helpline to assist Punjabis stranded in parts of the Middle East amid rising tensions and war-like conditions. He said that affected families can seek immediate assistance by calling 0172-2260042 or 0172-2260043, or by sending a message on WhatsApp at +91 94787 79112.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is in constant coordination with the Government of India to ensure the safe and early return of those stranded. He clarified that the Punjab government is closely monitoring the situation and remains fully committed to providing all possible assistance to the affected people.

Assuring full support to the affected families, the Chief Minister said, “Due to the tense situation in Arab countries, many Punjabis are facing serious difficulties. If any person or their family member is stranded there, they should immediately contact the helpline numbers issued. The state government is fully prepared to help them.”

He informed that a dedicated helpline and control room has been set up for this purpose, which will operate round the clock. Information received will be promptly forwarded to the concerned departments and the Government of India to expedite relief and evacuation efforts.

Reiterating the government’s commitment, Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “We are determined to provide all necessary assistance to those stranded at the earliest. No family needs to panic—the Punjab government is standing firmly with them during this difficult time.”

Expressing solidarity with the families of youth, workers, and students stranded in the Gulf countries, he said that the state government is standing shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of crisis and will ensure support at every level.

The Chief Minister appealed to the Government of India to take immediate and effective steps, keeping in view the prevailing situation in the Middle East, to ensure the safe return of stranded Punjabis and other Indian citizens. He expressed hope that through necessary diplomatic and administrative efforts, the Centre will ensure the swift and safe return of all those trapped in conflict-affected regions.
