Special Interviews to be Broadcast on ‘Jai Maharashtra’ and ‘Dilkhulas’ on the Occasion of International Women’s Day

Mumbai, March 2026 : On the occasion of International Women’s Day, special interviews with accomplished women ministers and ministers of state from Maharashtra will be broadcast in the programmes “Jai Maharashtra” and “Dilkhulas,” produced by the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations Maharashtra. The programmes aim to salute the achievements of women and highlight their contributions to governance and social transformation.

These interviews showcase the determination, confidence and dedication of women leaders who are shaping public policy and guiding the state administration with sensitivity and commitment.

During the special conversation featured in the programmes, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar extended her greetings to women across the state on the occasion of International Women’s Day. She said women are not only the pillars of their families but also the backbone of society. According to her, women today are making remarkable contributions in various sectors and are overcoming challenges to become stronger and more self-reliant while inspiring others.

She also referred to Maharashtra’s rich legacy of influential women leaders. She highlighted the role of Jijabai in laying the foundation of the Swarajya of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the welfare-oriented governance of Ahilyabai Holkar, and the pioneering efforts of Savitribai Phule in revolutionising women’s education.

Sunetra Pawar said that being given the opportunity to serve as the first woman Deputy Chief Minister in the state’s history is a moment of honour for her. However, she added that the recognition belongs not only to her but to all women of Maharashtra. She reaffirmed that the state government remains committed to empowering women and ensuring greater opportunities for their progress.

The programmes will also feature interviews with several prominent women leaders, including Environment and Climate Change and Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, and Minister of State for Urban Development, Transport, Social Justice, Medical Education, Minority Development and Waqf Madhuri Misal.

In these candid conversations, the leaders share insights from their professional journeys, discuss challenges they have faced, and explain their policy perspectives on governance and women’s empowerment. Their experiences highlight a combination of leadership, sensitivity and determination.

The special episode of the “Jai Maharashtra” programme will be broadcast on March 8, 2026, through the official social media platforms of the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations. The interviews will also be telecast on DD Sahyadri on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 8:00 pm.

Additionally, the special conversations will be aired in the “Dilkhulas” programme from March 9 to March 14, 2026, every morning from 7:25 am to 7:40 am on all stations of All India Radio and will also be available on the News On AIR mobile application.

The interviews have been hosted by presenter Sushma Jadhav, who guides the discussions highlighting the inspiring journeys of these women leaders.
