Foundation Stone Laid for Robotics and UAV Facility Project

Nagpur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the global defence landscape is changing rapidly and that even trade is increasingly being used as a strategic weapon. In such times, the countries that possess strong strategic capabilities and advanced technology will lead in the future. He noted that as India moves swiftly in this direction, Solar Group is playing an important role in giving new momentum to the country’s strategic strength.

He was speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of the Robotics and UAV Facility project being set up by Solar Defence and Aerospace in the Special Economic Zone of MIHAN in Nagpur.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that when there was little clarity in the defence manufacturing sector, Solar Group continued working in the field with determination. Today, the company has secured a place among India’s leading defence production firms. Whether it is advanced drones or technologies such as the Pinaka rocket system, the group has contributed significantly to strengthening the country’s strategic capabilities.

He added that in the changing global environment, technologies such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor ecosystems, and quantum technology will play a key role. In this context, the state government has formulated a new policy for defence technology, aerospace, and deep-tech sectors. The investment being made by Solar Group under this policy is one of the largest so far, he pointed out.

The Chief Minister assured that the state government would extend full support to Solar Industries as it continues its journey with the vision of “Nation First.”

Solar Industries’ Contribution is a Matter of Pride: Nitin Gadkari

He noted that significant progress is being made in robotics engines and drone technology, and the ongoing global conflicts demonstrate their growing importance. The Solar project is aligned with the technologies of the future.
