CM Vishnu Deo Sai Attends Community Convention, Announces Funds for Development
Raipur, March 2026: Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, attended the two-day annual convention of the Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj held at Paragaon. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister announced ₹50 lakh for the construction of a community hall for the society and ₹20 lakh for the construction of a CC road in Paragaon.
During his address, the Chief Minister said that when a community itself takes responsibility for educating its children, the younger generation moves forward with greater confidence and determination. He praised the efforts of the community in promoting education and social development.
Extending greetings on International Women’s Day to the women present at the event, Sai said that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has completed two years. On this occasion, the 25th installment of the scheme has been transferred into the bank accounts of nearly 70 lakh women across the state. He described the scheme as a significant step toward strengthening the economic empowerment of women.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the rich legacy of the Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya community, stating that it has produced many talented individuals who have contributed to the development of both the state and the country. Appreciating the community’s initiatives in the field of education, he said that more than 2,000 students are currently receiving educational support through the community, which is a commendable effort.
Sai said the state government is continuously working to create more employment opportunities for youth and encourage them to build their careers in different sectors. He added that the government is also committed to providing permanent housing for poor and needy families, ensuring better living conditions for them.
Referring to agriculture, the Chief Minister noted that Chhattisgarh is widely known as the “Rice Bowl of India.” He said the government has been taking several decisions in the interest of farmers. Before the festival of Holi, an amount of ₹10,324 crore was transferred into the bank accounts of 25.28 lakh farmers under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, providing financial support to strengthen the agricultural sector.
Sai also spoke about the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, under which more than 42,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya over the past two years to offer prayers to Lord Ram. Additionally, the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme has been restarted, allowing elderly citizens and devotees to visit various religious sites.
Highlighting the state’s economic plans, the Chief Minister said that the 2026 state budget includes provisions aimed at the development of all sections of society. He encouraged young people interested in entrepreneurship to study the state’s new industrial policy and take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
Sai also revealed that Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth around ₹8 lakh crore, and efforts have already begun to implement these proposals on the ground. These investments are expected to generate employment and accelerate economic growth in the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister honoured several individuals from the community who have achieved remarkable success in different fields. Among those recognised were Deepak Chandrakar for being selected as a Civil Judge, Laxmi Chandrakar for being selected in the Public Service Commission as a Commercial Tax Officer, Dr. Preeti Karan Chandrakar, Head of the Department of Computer Science at National Institute of Technology Raipur, and Dr. Karan Chandrakar, who earned a PhD in Textile and Fiber Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Other awardees included Laxmi Chandrakar, who won a gold medal in the Indo-Nepal Test Series in Ball Badminton, as well as Dr. Divya Chandrakar and Dr. Rahul Chandrakar, who completed their MBBS and are serving at the Government Hospital in Mahasamund.
The programme was also addressed by Cabinet Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MLA Lalit Chandrakar, and MLA Yogeshwar Raju Sinha. They appreciated the community’s role in strengthening education, social unity, and development.
The event was attended by community leaders, public representatives, and a large number of members of the Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya society.
