Adani Foundation’s ‘’ Empowers 4,500+ Women Entrepreneurs in Mumbai
Swabhimaan was launched by the Adani Foundation in 2021-22, in partnership with Adani Electricity and MAVIM (Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal). The program focuses on equipping underprivileged women from urban communities with essential skills, financial literacy, and business strategies. It is aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat Mission to empower women to contribute towards the nation’s vision of inclusive and sustainable development.
The program provides women with essential skills and resources to start their entrepreneurial journey and drive sustainable business growth. It has transformed SHGs into ESHGs (Enterprise Self Help Groups) by fostering savings, facilitating loans, and helping launch income-generating ventures. Moreover, training in governance, financial literacy, and trade-specific skills are also facilitated. So far, Swabhimaan has positively impacted lives of 4,500+ women in Mumbai – they have become self-reliant entrepreneurs and have contributed towards their families’ education, health, and wellbeing.
Swabhimaan – The Rise of SHE is being organized to celebrate the livelihoods, dignity, and exponential empowerment of over 4,500 urban underprivileged women in Mumbai who are part of our program. The event is a tribute to their resilience, hard work, and inspiring journeys of transformation.
The program will feature Swabhimaan stalls, where women beneficiarieswill showcase their skills, products, and entrepreneurial achievements – demonstrating how opportunity and support can transform lives.
Dr Priti Adani will be addressing the Swambhimaan Event today, which will celebrate the livelihoods and the remarkable empowerment of urban underprivileged women in Mumbai.
Dr Priti Adani’s address is scheduled between 5:00 to 5:15 PM
