Geeta Bhavans to be Built Statewide on the Indore–Jabalpur Model: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Geeta Bhavans will be constructed across all urban bodies in the state on the Indore–Jabalpur model. Through these Geeta Bhavans, efforts are being made to create a philosophical and culturally enriching environment. The primary objective of these centres is to connect the younger generation with the philosophy of Nishkama Karma from the Bhagavad Gita and Indian values, while also providing special resources for researchers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the Geeta Bhavan project is now being expanded on a larger scale to enhance the cultural and spiritual consciousness of Madhya Pradesh. A provision of ₹60 crore has been made for the year 2026–27 under the five-year action plan for the construction of Geeta Bhavans in all 413 urban bodies of the state. The ambitious project aims to create modern infrastructure in urban areas for discourse on Indian philosophy, art and literature. Taking inspiration from the success of Geeta Bhavans built in Indore and Jabalpur, this model will now be implemented across the state.

Projects Approved in Four Cities, Land Identified in 100 Urban Bodies

In a significant step towards implementing the scheme, the department has granted technical approval for brownfield projects in four major cities. These include ₹5 crore for Rewa, ₹2.5 crore for Chhindwara, ₹2.4 crore for Katni and ₹2 crore for Khandwa.

Land availability has been ensured for greenfield projects in 100 municipalities, including six municipal corporations, and the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) are being finalised. Land has also been identified in the remaining 313 urban bodies, and the allocation process is underway.

Cultural Centres Equipped with Modern Facilities

Each Geeta Bhavan is being developed as a multi-purpose centre. Its key components will include a state-of-the-art auditorium for large-scale cultural and intellectual events, a knowledge centre with a well-equipped library and high-tech e-library for learning and research, and public amenities such as a cafeteria along with dedicated outlets for books and spiritual literature.
