BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia congratulated all the award winners and expressed hope that their achievements would continue to inspire future generations of cricketers.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Saikia praised the awardees for their dedication and excellence. He said their performances, commitment and passion continue to elevate the standards of Indian cricket and inspire millions of fans across the country.

The glittering event in New Delhi celebrated the success and achievements of Indian cricket over the past year while acknowledging individuals who have played a pivotal role in shaping the game in the country.
Among the most prestigious honours of the evening was the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to former Indian cricketers Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid. Both legends were recognised for their remarkable contributions and decades of service to Indian cricket.
In women’s cricket, former India captain Mithali Raj received the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women, acknowledging her immense contribution to the growth and popularity of women’s cricket in India. Mithali, widely regarded as one of the greatest batters in the history of women’s cricket, played a crucial role in bringing global recognition to the Indian women’s team.
The ceremony also honoured current stars of Indian cricket. India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill received the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for the 2024–25 season, recognising him as the best international cricketer (men).
Meanwhile, Indian women’s star Smriti Mandhana was named Best International Cricketer (Women) for the fifth time in her career, further cementing her status as one of the leading players in world cricket.
Young talents were also celebrated at the event. Indian women’s opener Shafali Verma was honoured for her outstanding domestic performances, while Ayush Mhatre, captain of the recent Under-19 World Cup-winning team, received recognition for his impressive leadership and performances during the 2024–25 domestic season.
At the institutional level, the Mumbai Cricket Association was awarded for delivering the best performance in BCCI domestic tournaments during the season.
One of the major highlights of the ceremony was the recognition of five Indian teams that achieved remarkable success in global competitions. These included victories in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, and both the men’s and women’s editions of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
The recognition of these achievements highlighted what many observers described as a historic phase for Indian cricket, marked by strong performances across all formats and levels of the game. The BCCI Naman Awards once again underscored the organisation’s commitment to celebrating excellence while encouraging the next generation of players to strive for greatness.
