India–Pakistan Clash Headlines FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Draw; Full Pool Schedule Announced
Mumbai, March 2026 : Traditional rivals India and Pakistan have been placed in the same Pool D for the Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, setting up one of the most anticipated encounters of the tournament. The prestigious event will be jointly hosted by Netherlands and Belgium from August 15 to 30, with matches scheduled in Amsterdam and Wavre.

Pool D also features England and Wales, making it one of the toughest groups in the 16-team competition. Only the top team from each pool will secure direct qualification to the quarterfinals, while the second and third-placed teams will have to compete in crossover matches to advance to the last-eight stage.
The India–Pakistan encounter marks their first meeting in the opening round of a World Cup since 2010, when India secured a convincing 4–1 victory in New Delhi. With Pakistan returning to the tournament after missing recent editions, the clash is expected to rekindle one of hockey’s most storied rivalries.
