CM Flags Off 207 New Buses in Rajasthan
Jaipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma flagged off 207 new buses of the State Road Transport Corporation from the Ajmer Road bus terminal on Thursday, marking the occasion of Rajasthan Day. The addition of these buses is expected to strengthen the public transport system in the state and provide better travel facilities to the general public.
Extending greetings to the people of the state on Rajasthan Day and the Hindu New Year, the Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel established Greater Rajasthan on March 30, 1949, on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. He noted that the state government has decided to celebrate Rajasthan Day on this day, and this year it is being celebrated across the state with great enthusiasm on March 19, accompanied by several state-level programmes.
Speaking to the media, Sharma said Rajasthan is moving rapidly towards realizing the vision of a “Developed India–Developed Rajasthan” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that in the past two and a half years, the government has provided relief and initiated development across all sections of society. He also wished prosperity and happiness for the people of the state.
During the event, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the buses after performing rituals. The fleet includes 100 Blue Line Express buses, 79 Starline buses, and 28 AC buses. With the addition of these vehicles, the total fleet of Rajasthan Roadways has increased by 207 buses. These buses are equipped with modern safety features to ensure safe, organized, and comfortable travel for passengers.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed helmets to 700 women, designating them as road safety ambassadors. He interacted with them and encouraged adherence to traffic rules.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, MP Manju Sharma, along with other public representatives, officials, and citizens.
