Expedite Pending Power Infrastructure Projects in Dapoli, Khed and Mandangad: Maharashtra Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar
Mumbai, July 2026 : Maharashtra Minister of State for Energy Meghna Sakore-Bordikar on Thursday directed officials to expedite pending power distribution and infrastructure projects in the Ratnagiri district, particularly in the talukas of Dapoli, Khed and Mandangad. She instructed the Energy Department and Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated timelines through systematic planning and effective coordination.
The directions were issued during a review meeting chaired by the Minister to assess the progress of various power-related projects in the three talukas.
Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam, who also attended the meeting, urged officials to submit a positive proposal for identifying and allotting land for the proposed power substation at Dapoli. He also suggested relocating old electricity transmission lines running close to the coastline alongside roads wherever feasible to improve safety and facilitate infrastructure development.
The meeting was attended by MSEDCL Executive Director Dhananjay Aundhikar, Directors D.V. Padalkar and Satish Chavan, Konkan Region Joint Managing Director Jagdale, Chief Engineers Dole and Kawale, along with other senior officials of the Energy Department.
Sakore-Bordikar reviewed the status of several key projects aimed at strengthening electricity supply in Dapoli, Khed and Mandangad. These included the establishment of new substations, construction of high- and low-voltage transmission lines, installation of distribution transformers, pending agricultural and domestic electricity connections, and various public demands related to power infrastructure.
She directed officials to address all pending issues with urgency and ensure that ongoing projects are completed without unnecessary delays. Stressing the need for a consumer-centric approach, the Minister asked the department to respond promptly to citizens’ grievances and ensure reliable electricity services.
The Minister also expressed concern over frequent power outages in the region and instructed officials to implement immediate corrective measures. She specifically directed the installation of covered conductors in vulnerable areas wherever required to minimise disruptions and improve the safety and reliability of the power distribution network.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to providing uninterrupted and secure electricity to consumers, Sakore-Bordikar said strengthening the power infrastructure in Ratnagiri district remains a priority. She emphasised that timely completion of ongoing projects would improve the quality of power supply, support local development and enhance services for both residential consumers and the agricultural sector.
