Adani Enterprises Denies Plans to Enter Airline Business, Calls Reports Baseless

Ahmedabad, July 2026 : Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) on Friday firmly denied media reports and market speculation suggesting that it was planning to enter the airline business, describing the claims as “entirely baseless and factually incorrect.”

In an official statement, a spokesperson for Adani Enterprises clarified that the company is not considering any proposal to launch an airline. The clarification came after reports surfaced claiming that the Adani Group was exploring opportunities to establish its own aviation carrier.

“We would like to categorically deny the recent media reports and market speculation suggesting that Adani Enterprises is planning to launch an airline,” the spokesperson said. “These reports are completely unfounded. Adani Enterprises is not evaluating any proposal to enter the airline business.”

The clarification aims to dispel speculation surrounding the company’s future plans, particularly as the Adani Group continues to strengthen its presence in India’s airport infrastructure sector.

While ruling out any move into commercial airline operations, the group remains focused on expanding its airport ecosystem. Recently, Adani Airports announced an ambitious first-phase investment of over Rs 20,000 crore to develop integrated airport cities across its network.

The project will be executed through Adani Airport City Limited (AACL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), which is India’s largest private airport operator. The initiative will cover more than 655 acres of land across six airports located in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati. Of this, nearly 440 acres are located in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai alone.

The company plans to develop approximately 22 million square feet of commercial and urban infrastructure, with nearly 70 per cent of the total investment earmarked for Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The focus reflects the Mumbai Metropolitan Region’s importance as India’s financial, commercial and aviation hub.

According to the company, the airport city developments will create integrated, walkable urban districts featuring hotels, offices, retail outlets, entertainment venues, convention centres and dining spaces. These facilities will be seamlessly connected with airports, Metro networks and city transport systems, enhancing passenger convenience while creating vibrant commercial destinations.

With its latest clarification, Adani Enterprises has made it clear that its current strategy remains centred on airport infrastructure development and associated urban projects, rather than expanding into airline operations. The company reiterated that reports claiming otherwise are inaccurate and should not be treated as reflective of its business plans.
