The Chief Secretary also interacted with the medical college faculty, inviting suggestions to further strengthen healthcare services in the state and advising a greater focus on research.

He reviewed the “Mera Aspataal–Meri Zimmedari” (My Hospital–My Responsibility) cleanliness campaign being implemented in the hospital premises, as well as the Rapid Referral Redressal System (Setu) developed for the convenience of referred patients. He said the medical college should have a high-quality library and stressed the need for quality research. He suggested appointing a Dean (Research) to promote research activities.

He urged faculty members to increase publications in indexed journals and stated that doctors with a high number of such publications would be allowed to participate in international seminars and conferences. He also assured that vacant positions in the medical college would be filled.

The Chief Secretary suggested establishing permanent study chairs in collaboration with Hindustan Zinc Limited, RSMML, and other corporate institutions, which would allow nationally and internationally reputed doctors to be associated with the institute, thereby boosting research. He highlighted the importance of quality nursing care and appreciated the proposal to extend OPD hours by introducing evening OPD services. He also recommended implementing e-governance and digital projects across all medical colleges in the state.
