108 Illegal LPG Cylinders Seized in Bhubaneswar Raid

Bhubaneswar, March 2026 : In a major enforcement action, the Civil Supplies Enforcement Squad conducted a raid in the Ganesh Bazar area of Jharpada, uncovering illegal storage of LPG cylinders in a residential locality.

The operation was led by Civil Supplies Officer Gyanindriya Mishra, along with the Additional CSO, ACSO, and Market Inspectors under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The raid was carried out with support from Commissionerate Police personnel.

During the inspection, officials detected an unauthorised LPG storage point operating within the residential area. Authorities found that cylinders were being stored in an unsafe and illegal manner, posing a serious risk to residents.

A total of 108 LPG cylinders were seized during the raid, including 95 domestic and 13 commercial cylinders. Officials noted that the storage conditions were highly hazardous and could have led to a major safety incident if left unchecked.

Following the seizure, necessary legal action was initiated against those involved, as per established procedures.

Officials reiterated that illegal storage of LPG cylinders violates safety norms and urged citizens to report such activities to prevent potential accidents and ensure public safety.
