Khelo India Tribal Games 2026: Mizoram’s Zosangzuali Wins Gold in Women’s 86+ kg Weightlifting

Raipur, March 2026: Athletes delivered thrilling performances in the women’s 86+ kg weightlifting event at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, captivating spectators with their strength and determination.

Mizoram’s Zosangzuali clinched the gold medal with an outstanding performance. She lifted 70 kg in the snatch and 83 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 140 kg to secure the top position. Her achievement brought pride to her state and stood out as one of the highlights of the competition.

Assam’s Pinky Boro put up a strong fight to win the silver medal with a total lift of 125 kg. She managed 55 kg in the snatch and 70 kg in the clean and jerk, showcasing impressive consistency and skill.

Madhya Pradesh’s Gunjan Uikey secured the bronze medal with a total lift of 86 kg, including 39 kg in the snatch and 47 kg in the clean and jerk. Her determined effort earned her a well-deserved podium finish.

Tripura’s Twismu Jamatia finished fourth in the event, lifting a total of 77 kg.

The competition was held at the sports complex of Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. One of the key highlights of the event was the remarkable display of technique, confidence, and competitive spirit by the young athletes.
