The Chief Minister arrived at the temple early in the morning under Z-plus security cover. Tight security was maintained throughout the temple premises and surrounding areas to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit while allowing devotees to continue their darshan without major inconvenience. Security personnel closely monitored the route and temple complex during the Chief Minister’s stay.
Upon entering the temple, Satheesan participated in the traditional rituals performed according to the temple’s customs. He had darshan of the presiding deity, Goddess Mookambika, and took part in a special puja conducted by the temple priests. The rituals were performed following long-standing religious traditions associated with one of South India’s most revered shrines.
The Chief Minister spent some time inside the temple premises, offering prayers in the serene spiritual atmosphere. Temple priests performed the ceremonies with Vedic chants and customary rituals, while Satheesan prayed for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the people.
Following the completion of the special puja, the Sri Mookambika Temple administration honoured the Chief Minister in accordance with temple traditions. He was presented with prasadam and ceremonial offerings as a mark of respect. Satheesan thanked the temple authorities and priests for the warm reception and their hospitality during his visit.
The Sri Mookambika Temple, located in Kollur in Karnataka’s Udupi district, is one of the country’s most significant pilgrimage centres. Dedicated to Goddess Mookambika, the temple attracts lakhs of devotees every year from across India, particularly from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The shrine is especially revered by devotees seeking the blessings of the Goddess for knowledge, wisdom, prosperity, and spiritual well-being.
According to religious belief, the temple holds immense importance as a prominent centre of Shakti worship. Its rich history, ancient traditions, and spiritual significance have made it one of the most visited temples in southern India.
In view of the Chief Minister’s visit, authorities implemented comprehensive security measures across the temple complex. Police personnel regulated the movement of visitors and ensured that devotees faced minimal disruption while carrying out their religious activities.
Officials said the arrangements were carefully planned to balance security requirements with the convenience of pilgrims visiting the temple during the morning hours.
