Harsh Singh Dominates Joshua Katz 10-0 to Win Judo Gold at Commonwealth Games 2026

Glasgow, July 2026 : India’s Harsh Singh produced a commanding performance to clinch the gold medal in the men’s -60kg judo event at the Commonwealth Games 2026, defeating Australia’s Joshua Katz 10-0 in a one-sided final on Saturday.

Singh seized control from the opening exchanges and never allowed his Australian opponent to settle into the contest. Combining speed, precision and tactical discipline, the Indian judoka built an early advantage before maintaining relentless pressure through the bout.

Katz struggled to find a response as Singh’s sharp attacks and resolute defence prevented the Australian from scoring even a single point. The Indian remained composed until the final buzzer, completing a comprehensive 10-0 victory and securing the top spot on the podium.

As the contest ended, Singh raised his arms in celebration, while members of the Indian contingent erupted in applause. The emphatic victory added another memorable moment to India’s campaign in Glasgow and further highlighted the country’s growing strength in judo.

The gold medal took India’s Commonwealth Games 2026 medal tally to 19 medals — five gold, 10 silver and four bronze.

Dey had earlier defeated Canada’s Heidi Quach 2-1 in a closely fought final to claim the women’s 48kg gold medal. Her victory had already provided a major boost to India’s judo campaign, and Singh’s dominant performance has strengthened that momentum.

Born on May 24, 2003, Singh has emerged as a prominent figure in Indian judo, consistently challenging for top honours on the domestic circuit. His strong performances in national ranking competitions and selection trials have earned him opportunities to represent India internationally.
