Design New Employment-Oriented Courses: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has performed better than other states in the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme. He directed that maximum youth should benefit from the scheme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also instructed that new and useful courses be designed in the state to help youth secure employment immediately after completing their training. He gave these directions while reviewing the work of the Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department at Samatva Bhavan. Technical Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Tetwal were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the Government of India has released the national grading of ITIs, in which Madhya Pradesh has secured the fifth position. As many as 47 government ITIs in the state have received a score of 9 plus out of 10 in the grading.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made several efforts to transform India into a Skill Capital. Considering the large youth population of the country, concrete steps are being taken to connect them with employment opportunities. He directed that youth in Madhya Pradesh should also be linked with the dairy development programmes and initiatives being undertaken by the National Dairy Development Board to enhance milk production. Necessary steps should be taken in coordination with the Skill Development and Employment Department for this purpose.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed that the number of persons trained under the Chief Minister Seekho Kamao Yojana, currently nearly 20 thousand, should be doubled. He further instructed that adequate efforts be made to connect youth with various activities and provide employment opportunities during Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026.
Achievements of Madhya Pradesh in Technical Education and Skill Development
It was informed in the meeting that Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest enrolment of 11,400 trainees in the country under the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme. Under Yuva Sangam, more than 2 lakh 68 thousand applicants benefited in the state during the year 2025–26. Additionally, 1 lakh 32 thousand youth in Madhya Pradesh have benefited from self-employment opportunities.
Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park, Bhopal, has set a target to benefit more than 3,000 trainees this year. Out of these, 1,500 trainees will receive long-term training and 1,500 short-term training. Youth have previously been trained in industries such as Reliance, Trident and JBM of the Jindal Group.
At present, 290 government and 644 private ITIs are operating in the state. A total of 3,484 seats have been added in government ITIs, increasing the overall capacity to 52,248 seats, while private ITIs have 61,032 seats.
The meeting was also informed that Parm Foundation is conducting training in the Manufacturing Technician course at Sardarpur ITI in Dhar district. Under the PM SETU initiative, the upgradation of 20 hub ITIs and 81 spoke ITIs has been completed in Madhya Pradesh. The state also delivered an excellent performance in the India Skills Competition 2025–26.
