Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal Attends Consecration Ceremony at Janaki Van Dham Shiv Temple

Raipur, April 2026: Chhattisgarh’s Tourism and Culture Minister, Rajesh Agrawal, attended the consecration (Pran-Pratishtha) ceremony of a newly constructed Shiv temple at Janaki Van Dham in the Kunwa-Bipatara area of Kabirdham district. He was accompanied by MLA Bhavana Bohra on the occasion.

During the ceremony, the minister performed traditional rituals, including the ceremonial abhishek (holy bathing) and पूजा (worship) of Lord Shiva, praying for the well-being and prosperity of all living beings. The event, which also included a grand Mahayagya (sacred fire ritual), was marked by the chanting of Vedic mantras, religious ceremonies, and deep devotion among the attendees, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.

Addressing the gathering, Agrawal prayed to Lord Shiva—revered as Mahadev—for the peace, prosperity, and continuous progress of Chhattisgarh. He expressed hope that the blessings of Lord Shiva would ensure happiness and harmony in the lives of all citizens of the state.

Highlighting the importance of such events, the minister said that religious and cultural programmes play a vital role in fostering unity, harmony, and positive energy in society. He noted that these gatherings not only strengthen faith but also help preserve the country’s rich cultural heritage, enabling younger generations to stay connected with their traditions.

Agrawal also congratulated the Janaki Van Committee and local residents for successfully organizing the grand event. He appreciated their active participation and dedication, stating that such large-scale and meaningful programmes are only possible through collective effort. He further assured full support for the overall development and cultural advancement of the region.

Janaki Van Dham, located in the Kunwa-Bipatara area, is rapidly emerging as an important center of religious faith and natural beauty. Surrounded by dense forests, lush greenery, and a शांत and serene environment, the site is becoming a major attraction for both devotees and nature lovers. Visitors experience not only spiritual peace but also the calming beauty of nature.

The dham is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it witnesses a large influx of devotees during festivals such as Maha Shivaratri and the holy month of Shravan. These occasions have further strengthened the site’s identity as a prominent religious destination.

Beyond its spiritual significance, Janaki Van Dham is also evolving into a hub of folk culture and social harmony. Religious and cultural events आयोजित here are helping promote unity among communities while preserving traditional practices.

In the coming years, Janaki Van Dham is expected to establish itself as a प्रमुख religious and tourist destination in Chhattisgarh.
