Didi’s will become lakhpati by collecting market tax (donation-gadi) under National Rural Livelihood Mission

Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, 10 sisters of the Sherawali Maa Self-Help Group of Bihaan Yojana in Keralapal Village Panchayat, about 12 km from the district headquarters Sukma, have been given the responsibility by the Panchayat to collect market tax, cleanliness and maintenance. The sisters are conducting various individual livelihood activities after having revolving fund, community investment fund and bank linkage. After the proposal was passed by the Gram Sabha in Keralapal Village Panchayat, the sisters of the group are now also doing the work of collecting market tax. Lakshmidevnath, President of Sherawali Maa Group and Secretary Jyotsna Roy said that now we are able to get additional income and our self-confidence is also increasing gradually. Under the direction of the Collector and guidance of the District CEO, the sisters of the self-help group in the district are moving forward on the path of progress.

The sisters of the group said that by joining the Rural Livelihood Mission, they are moving forward on the path of economic self-reliance. They are getting an opportunity to learn and work in various livelihood activities. Now that we are financially capable, we are contributing to fulfilling the needs of the house.
