Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Warns of Strong Military Response on Army Day
Tehran, April 2026 : Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday issued a strong warning to adversaries, stating that the country’s navy is prepared to deliver “new bitter defeats” to its enemies. His remarks came as he addressed the nation on the occasion of Iran Army Day, which also coincides with the birth anniversary of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In a message reported by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Mojtaba Khamenei described the victory of the Islamic Revolution as a turning point in the history of Iran’s armed forces. He said the revolution marked the end of a period of weakness imposed on the country’s military by external enemies and internal traitors, and the beginning of a new era of strength and resilience.
Emphasizing the current capabilities of the armed forces, Khamenei stated that Iran’s army is effectively confronting what he called “two leading armies of disbelief and arrogance,” adding that their weaknesses and vulnerabilities have been exposed on the global stage. He asserted that Iran’s military, particularly its navy, stands ready to defend the nation and respond decisively to any threats.
The Supreme Leader also paid tribute to his late father, Ali Khamenei, referring to him as an “illustrious and unique figure” of the era. He highlighted the former leader’s significant role in safeguarding the army during the early years following the Islamic Revolution, particularly in preventing its dissolution and strengthening its operational capabilities.
Khamenei further called for recognition of key military figures from Iran’s past, including Qarani, Fallahi, Namjoo, Fakouri, Babaei, Sattari, Ardestani, and Sayyid Shirazi, acknowledging their contributions to the nation’s defense. He also mentioned senior military officials such as Sayyid Abdolrahim Mousavi and Aziz Nasirzadeh, underscoring their ongoing role in maintaining the country’s military strength.
Concluding his message, Mojtaba Khamenei extended his blessings and appreciation to the Iranian Army, as well as to veterans, wounded soldiers, and the families of those who lost their lives in service to the nation. His remarks reinforced Iran’s emphasis on military preparedness and national defense amid ongoing regional tensions.
