Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 36-Ball Century Powers Rajasthan Royals to 228/6

Jaipur, April 2026 : : Rajasthan Royals rode on a sensational knock from young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi to post a commanding 228/6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins opted to bowl first, a decision that quickly turned against his side. Although Rajasthan lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early for just 10 runs, what followed was a breathtaking display of power-hitting from Suryavanshi.

The young batter wasted no time in asserting dominance, smashing four consecutive sixes in the opening over to set the tone for the innings. His aggressive intent never wavered as he took apart the SRH bowling attack with remarkable ease and confidence.

Suryavanshi went on to score a stunning 103 off just 37 balls, an innings studded with 12 towering sixes and five boundaries. His 36-ball century now ranks as the third-fastest in IPL history, underlining the sheer quality and explosiveness of his performance. His innings not only electrified the crowd but also put Rajasthan Royals firmly in control of the match.

He found excellent support from Dhruv Jurel, who played a composed yet impactful knock of 51 off 35 deliveries. The duo stitched together a crucial 112-run partnership for the second wicket in just 62 balls, balancing aggression with stability and ensuring the scoreboard kept ticking at a rapid pace.

As the innings progressed into the death overs, Donovan Ferreira provided the final flourish with a quickfire 33 off 16 balls. His late acceleration helped Rajasthan Royals push their total well beyond the 220-run mark, putting immense pressure on the opposition.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling unit struggled throughout the innings to contain the relentless assault. Shakib Hussain had a particularly tough outing, conceding 62 runs in his four overs. In contrast, Cummins stood out as the most economical bowler for SRH, finishing with figures of 1/27.

With a daunting target of 229 to chase, Sunrisers Hyderabad now face a massive challenge. Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, will take immense confidence from their batting performance, especially the extraordinary innings played by Suryavanshi, which has set the stage for a thrilling contest.
