AMC 2026 Election Results Officially Declared
Aizawl, April 2026: The counting of votes for the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) General Election 2026 was completed smoothly on Tuesday under a peaceful atmosphere, and the results have now been officially declared.
The AMC comprises 19 wards, of which the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) secured a dominant victory by winning 17 wards. The Mizo National Front (MNF) and the Indian National Congress (INC) won one ward each.
Vote counting began at 8:00 AM at the Aizawl Deputy Commissioner’s Office and was conducted across four counting halls for all 19 wards. The counting process concluded at around 2:00 PM.
Out of a total of 2,39,985 registered voters, 1,50,638 votes were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of 62.77 per cent. Wards II, IV, V, XI, XII, and XVII were reserved for women candidates.
The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were brought out from strong rooms in the presence of General Observers and representatives of political parties. After the counting process, the machines were securely stored again.

- Ward VI – H. Lalremtluanga (ZPM) – 46.40%
- Ward VII – Zochhuana (ZPM) – 45.78%
- Ward VIII – Christina Roluahpuii Sailo (ZPM) – 53.53%
- Ward IX – B. Lalawmpuii (MNF) – 43.99%
- Ward X – PB Lallawmzuala (ZPM) – 51.52%
- Ward XI (Reserved) – Helen Rualchhingi (ZPM) – 52.02%
- Ward XII (Reserved) – C. Vanlalhruaii (ZPM) – 49.51%
- Ward XIII – Vanlalhruaia (ZPM) – 42.89%
- Ward XIV – Roy Lalhriatpuia (ZPM) – 46.51%
