Chief Secretary Completes Self-Enumeration for Digital Census 2027, Urges Citizens to Participate

Jaipur, May 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V Srinivas on Friday carried out ‘self-enumeration’ under the Digital Census 2027 initiative at the State Secretariat. Using the official portal (se.census.gov.in), he filled in his details and successfully submitted the form. On the occasion, he appealed to citizens across the state to actively participate in this major campaign and contribute towards realizing the vision of a “Developed India 2027.”

A Simple Two-Minute Process

Praising the digital system, the Chief Secretary said the process is extremely simple and time-saving. Through the online portal, citizens can complete the census formalities by answering 32 questions in just about two minutes. The special drive, which runs from May 1 to May 15, allows individuals to enter their information independently through the portal.

A Big Step Towards Digital Empowerment

V. Srinivas stated that the Digital Census is not merely a data collection exercise but a transformative step towards empowering citizens digitally. He noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of Narendra Modi of “Maximum Governance, Minimum Government,” and will help bridge the gap between citizens and the government through technology.

Extensive Preparations Undertaken

He informed that extensive preparations have been made at all levels—from the central government to the पंचायत level—to ensure the success of the campaign. Training programs have been conducted for master trainers and field trainers, who in turn have trained officials at district and tehsil levels. With digital data collection, dependence on field enumeration will reduce, and the data obtained will be more accurate and transparent.

Targets Set for First Phase

The Chief Secretary also directed officials to set clear targets for self-enumeration at both the state and district levels during the first phase of the campaign. He expressed confidence that with increasing use of technology and active public participation, the Digital Census 2027 will emerge as a historic milestone.
