Trained Drivers Required for Accident Control – Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari

Amravati : With the rapid progress in national highway and road construction across the country, traffic speeds have increased, leading to a troubling rise in road accidents. The primary cause of these accidents has been identified as insufficient driver training. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the need for comprehensive driver training to reduce accidents. He stated that regional training centers will help produce well-trained drivers and thereby decrease the number of accidents.

The Regional Driver Training Center at Mardi Road was inaugurated today by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Speaking at the event, Gadkari highlighted the importance of such centers. The inauguration was attended by MP Dr. Anil Bonde, Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar, Special Inspector General of Police Ramnath Pokle, Police Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Divisional Transport Officer Urmila Pawar, Resident Deputy Collector Anil Bhatkar, Sipna Education Broadcasting Board, and Regional Driver Training Center President Jagdish Gupta.

National highways are being rapidly constructed, contributing to savings in money, time, and environmental impact. However, the increase in traffic speed has led to a rise in road accident fatalities. To address this, training centers are being established across the country to produce skilled drivers. This newly inaugurated center is the first of its kind in the state, and Gadkari is confident that it will produce proficient drivers.

The central government is implementing measures to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. These include identifying and repairing accident-prone areas, encouraging vehicle manufacturers to incorporate safety features such as airbags and automatic braking systems, and promoting alternative fuels like CNG and ethanol as more affordable and environmentally friendly options. A significant transformation is underway in the transport sector, creating over 2.2 million job opportunities for trained drivers both domestically and abroad. This will provide substantial employment opportunities for the unemployed and contribute to national development. Gadkari urged the youth to take advantage of these opportunities through the training center.

The establishment of the Regional Driver Training Center adds to the city’s prestige and promises to create numerous job opportunities by producing skilled drivers. Under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, road development is advancing rapidly, with a focus on eco-friendly fuels. Dr. Anil Bonde noted that Gadkari’s innovative initiatives are contributing significantly to the country’s progress.

During the event, Union Minister Gadkari inspected the Regional Driver Training Center. The introduction was made by Jagdish Gupta, President of the Sipna Shikshan Prasarak Board and the Regional Driver Training Center. The program was coordinated by Dr. Ishant Rajguru, and Rakhi Gupta provided the vote of thanks.
