CM Yogi Calls on Educational Institutions to Raise Awareness on Global Challenges and Energy Conservation

Gorakhpur, May 2026 : Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath on Saturday urged all institutions under the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad (MPSP) to create awareness in society about current global challenges, including the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Chairing a review meeting with heads of all MPSP institutions at the Gorakhnath Temple auditorium, the Chief Minister said that teachers and staff must support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation and reduced foreign exchange expenditure, calling it a timely national responsibility.

He emphasised that educational institutions must play a proactive role in spreading awareness about energy conservation. Students, he said, should be encouraged to adopt fuel-saving practices, reduce use of petroleum products, and conserve electricity. This awareness, once developed among students, would extend to families and society at large, he added.

“The spirit of ‘Nation First’ should be strengthened. Only then can any challenge be effectively addressed,” the Chief Minister said.

CM Yogi also proposed the creation of a digital platform similar to the government’s ‘Karmayogi Portal’ for training and upskilling teachers and employees of MPSP institutions. He said such a system would help ensure continuous capacity building in line with modern requirements and emerging technologies.

During the meeting, representatives of various institutions presented annual reports and future plans through PowerPoint presentations. The Chief Minister reviewed their activities and issued directions for improving institutional performance and governance.

Institutions Must Become Agents of Change

Yogi Adityanath said that every institution must work with a clear purpose and become a vehicle of contemporary transformation in society. He stressed that institutions should move beyond routine functioning and adopt innovation, discipline, punctuality, and healthy competition.

He added that heads of institutions must lead by example, especially in maintaining discipline and time management. “Discipline must first be implemented by the institution head personally,” he said.

Focus on National Values and Education Reform

The Chief Minister highlighted that MPSP institutions were founded with the objective of promoting education, healthcare, and national values. He said these institutions have consistently contributed to nation-building and must continue strengthening their commitment to Indian knowledge systems.

He also stressed maintaining cleanliness, greenery, and a positive environment across campuses, stating that visitors should experience discipline and positivity in every institution.

Teachers, he said, should accept responsibilities enthusiastically and maintain respect for the founders of the institutions. He added that a positive academic environment is essential for student development.

Importance of Prayer and Student Development

Yogi Adityanath underlined the importance of morning assemblies, national anthem, and national songs in schools, saying they help build a disciplined and spiritually enriched atmosphere.

He also recommended well-equipped libraries with engaging and knowledge-rich books, regular training for teachers, and structured career counselling for students.

Preparing for Centenary Celebrations

The Chief Minister directed institutions to begin preparations for the centenary year of MPSP in 2032. He said the celebrations should be made historic and reflect the legacy of the organisation, founded in 1932 to promote educational awakening and national values in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

He said the institutions must work collectively to establish MPSP as a model of excellence by the centenary year through long-term planning and coordinated efforts.

Key Officials Present

The meeting was attended by senior members including Yogi Kamal Nath, Yogendra Nath, Rajesh Mohan Sarkar, Ram Janam Singh, Shailendra Pratap Singh, Dr. Surinder Singh, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rao, and Dr. Arvind Kumar Chaturvedi, along with heads of all affiliated institutions.
