Yogi govt emerges as a crisis responder during disaster: Relief provided within 24 hours, immediate assistance delivered across Districts

Lucknow, May 2026 : Following the recent storm, heavy rainfall, and lightning incidents in Uttar Pradesh that caused loss of life and property, the government has set an example of sensitive administration by providing swift relief to the affected people. Acting on the clear instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, compensation was delivered to the victims within 24 hours, providing timely financial support to the affected families.

In this sequence, on Saturday, ministers in charge and administrative officials visited the affected areas in Bahraich, Raebareli, Fatehpur, and Varanasi districts. They not only distributed relief assistance but also met bereaved families and offered condolences.

In Bahraich, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi visited Maheshpurwa hamlet of Gram Chandpara in the Mahsi area and met the family members of the deceased. He expressed condolences to the family and instructed officials to ensure that all admissible assistance is provided without delay.

The deceased, Tejram, had sustained injuries after a tree branch fell on him during the storm. He was immediately admitted to the district hospital, where he later died during treatment.

Similarly, in Raebareli, Minister of State for Horticulture Dinesh Pratap Singh distributed relief assistance to disaster-affected families during a programme organised at the Khiron Block auditorium. Assistance determined by the government was provided to people affected by loss of life, livestock loss, and house damage. Two beneficiaries were also handed certificates under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme.

On this occasion, Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh said that the Yogi Government stands firmly with citizens affected by natural disasters with full sensitivity and commitment. He instructed officials to maintain constant monitoring in the area and ensure that issues of disaster-affected people are resolved on priority.

He also directed the administration to remain alert and active in providing necessary assistance to farmers and rural residents.

In Fatehpur, Minister in Charge Ajit Singh Pal met the families of the deceased and handed over cheques of financial assistance amounting to Rs 16 lakh under the State Disaster Response Fund. During the visit, the minister assured the bereaved families that the Yogi Government stands with them in this difficult time.
He said that every possible support would be provided by the district administration and the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Minister Ajit Singh Pal also instructed officials to ensure that disaster-affected families are provided benefits of other government schemes operating in the district based on eligibility. Meanwhile, the administration informed that prompt assessment had been conducted in all cases related to loss of life and damage in the district, and relief amounts had already been disbursed.

In Varanasi as well, acting on the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the administration showed promptness in disaster-affected areas and ensured timely assistance to those affected by house damage, livestock loss, and injuries.

Officials stated that relief assistance amounting to Rs 9,26,000 under the State Disaster Response Fund has already been delivered to the affected people.

In this way, the active response of the administration from villages to cities, under the Chief Minister’s directions, has sent a strong message that the government stands firmly with the people during times of crisis.
