Fuel Supply Vigilance Intensified in Sangli; 9 LPG Cylinders Seized
Sangli, May 2026 : In view of the tense situation arising from the ongoing conflict in Gulf countries, vigilance teams have been deployed in the district to ensure smooth LPG cylinder distribution and uninterrupted fuel supply. Acting on this, flying vigilance squads conducted raids at three locations and carried out inspections. During the operation, a total of nine cylinders were seized, and the process of registering offences against the concerned individuals is underway.
Earlier, Maharashtra’s Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Parliamentary Affairs, and Guardian Minister of Sangli district, Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, had directed officials to take necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted LPG cylinder distribution and fuel supply in the district amid the tense international situation. Accordingly, under the guidance of District Collector Dr. Mainak Ghosh, flying vigilance squads appointed by the District Supply Department have intensified raids to curb the illegal use of domestic gas cylinders. The present action was taken as part of this drive.
To ensure smooth distribution of domestic LPG gas and prevent its illegal use, vigilance and flying squads have been appointed at the district level. The administration has also warned that strict action will be taken against those found diverting cylinders through gas agencies illegally or using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes.
