Rajasthan Police Conducts Statewide ‘Mega Nakabandi’ Drive; Over 15,000 Challans Issued, Cash and Illegal Arms Seized

Jaipur, June 2026 : Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Rajasthan Police carried out a massive statewide “Mega Nakabandi” (roadblock and checking) operation on June 1 to curb crime, tighten the net around anti-social elements, and ensure strict enforcement of traffic regulations.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) V.K. Singh said that a total of 1,103 checking points were established across all police ranges and commissionerates in the state. Police teams conducted intensive inspections of 39,984 two-wheelers and 34,888 four-wheelers, taking the total number of vehicles checked to more than 74,800. During the operation, 226 individuals were arrested.

Over 15,000 Traffic Challans Issued

As part of the special enforcement drive, police took stringent action against traffic violators and issued 15,083 challans in a single day.

The challans included:

  • 3,234 for riding without helmets
  • 1,648 for not wearing seat belts
  • 184 for using mobile phones while driving
  • 1,653 for violations related to vehicle number plates
  • 1,643 for vehicles with illegal black films on windows
  • 6,433 under various other categories of traffic violations

In addition, action was taken against 385 motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol.

Illegal Weapons, Drugs and Cash Recovered

Alongside traffic enforcement, police closely monitored suspicious activities across the state. As a result, 11 vehicles were seized and 73 criminal cases were registered. These included:

  • 4 cases under the Arms Act
  • 30 cases under the Excise Act
  • 2 cases under the NDPS Act
  • 37 cases under other special and local laws

Police arrested 63 accused persons in connection with these cases. Additionally, 163 individuals were detained under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on suspicious activities and preventive policing measures.

The operation also led to several significant recoveries. In the Jaipur Range, police seized five vehicles and recovered Rs 25.50 lakh in cash. In the Bharatpur Range, a tractor used for illegal sand transportation and a large quantity of illicit liquor were seized. In the Kota Range, police confiscated illegal liquor, poppy husk (doda chura), vehicles, and speaker amplifiers. Action was also taken against illegal liquor and vehicles in the Bikaner Range.

Jaipur Range Tops Enforcement Efforts

Among all police ranges, Jaipur Range recorded the highest number of traffic challans with 2,492 cases, followed by:

  • Ajmer Range – 2,229
  • Bharatpur Range – 2,145
  • Udaipur Range – 2,051
  • Kota Range – 1,796
  • Bikaner Range – 1,572
  • Jodhpur Range – 1,470

The Jaipur Police Commissionerate issued 990 challans, while the Jodhpur Police Commissionerate issued 338 challans.

Jaipur Range also led in vehicle inspections, checking 13,589 vehicles, followed by Udaipur Range with 12,234, Ajmer with 10,205, Bharatpur with 9,081, and Jodhpur Range with 8,079 vehicles checked.

Rajasthan Police described the operation as a major statewide effort aimed at strengthening law and order, improving road safety, and preventing criminal activities through intensive monitoring and enforcement.
