BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi Receives Prestigious Tolerance Award 2026

Abu Dhabi, June 2026 : The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has been conferred with the prestigious Tolerance Award 2026, recognising its outstanding contributions towards promoting global peace, interfaith dialogue, mutual respect, harmony and human unity.

The honour was presented during the International Dialogue of Civilisations and Tolerance Conference 2026, a prominent global forum that celebrates institutions and organisations working to foster tolerance, peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue among diverse communities around the world.

The award acknowledges not only the achievements of the temple as an institution but also the universal values it seeks to promote — compassion, humanity, inclusiveness, unity and respect for all. Since its inauguration, the BAPS Hindu Mandir has emerged as a symbol of cultural understanding and interfaith harmony, bringing together people from different faiths, nationalities and backgrounds.

Through initiatives such as the “Festival of Harmony”, “Omsiyyat” and several humanitarian outreach programmes, the temple has created platforms that encourage interaction and understanding among communities. These efforts have helped strengthen social cohesion and have showcased the spirit of global brotherhood in a multicultural environment.

Accepting the award on behalf of the temple, Brahmavihari Swami reflected on the future of families, spirituality and the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on society.

Speaking at the event, he stressed that the central challenge facing humanity is not the advancement of technology itself but how people evolve alongside it.

“Today, the most important question is not what AI can do, but what kind of human beings we are becoming in the age of AI,” he said.

Drawing inspiration from timeless Indian values such as Matrudevo Bhava (Mother is God), Pitrudevo Bhava (Father is God) and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family), Brahmavihari Swami emphasised that strong families remain the foundation of a healthy society and a prosperous nation.

He also highlighted the concept of Ghar Sabha (Home Assembly), inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, as a meaningful practice for modern families. The tradition encourages family members to gather regularly for prayer, dialogue and reflection, helping strengthen relationships and values in an increasingly fast-paced world.

Concluding his address, he underscored the importance of balancing technological progress with human compassion.

“The future will not be shaped solely by smarter machines. It will be built through stronger families, kinder hearts and more compassionate communities. We need not only AI-powered families but AI-empowered families,” he said.

The recognition further reinforces the BAPS Hindu Mandir’s growing global role as a beacon of peace, dialogue and cultural understanding. By fostering connections across religions, cultures and nations, the temple continues to serve as a powerful symbol of unity and coexistence in an increasingly interconnected world.
