Meeting Between Chief Minister And Regional Director, Indo-Pacific, Ustda
Aizawl: On September 3, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met with Ms. Verinda Fike, Regional Director for the Indo-Pacific at the US Trade & Development Agency (USTDA), at his office. The meeting focused on discussions about initiating development projects in Mizoram. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Lalremruata, OSD to CM.
The Chief Minister expressed his intent to propose several significant projects for Mizoram, which USTDA will review and coordinate with the relevant departments. Ms. Verinda Fike informed that USTDA would help in formulating master plans and project readiness plans, emphasizing their commitment to supporting India’s development. She assured that USTDA would continue to assist in the region.
The USTDA, an agency of the US government, operates worldwide to advance development projects. They are heavily involved in sectors such as Infrastructure and Services, Clean Energy and Power, Transportation, Information and Communications Technology, and Healthcare. Their funding is provided as grants rather than loans, and they also consider the needs of those who will implement these projects.
