Yogi govt set to hold exhibition in Kanpur to showcase works of artisans from across UP

Lucknow : The Yogi government, committed to empowering artisans through initiatives like the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, once again offers them a platform to promote their crafts at the state level. The MSME-Development Office in Kanpur will host a state-level exhibition under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana from September 10 to 12, 2024.

This exhibition aims to allow artisans from various districts to showcase their products and skills, offering a valuable platform to connect with new customers and expand business opportunities. Artisans from 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh, representing 18 major trades, will participate in the event.

MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan said, “The artisans who have completed Stage-3 verification under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and hold a PM Vishwakarma Beneficiary Identity Card can register for the exhibition by September 7, 2024.”

He added, “Registrations can be submitted on plain paper or via email at dcdi-kanpur@dcmsme.gov.in. Applicants must provide their names, PM Vishwakarma trade, address, mobile number, email ID, product details (for display), PM Vishwakarma ID registration number, PM Vishwakarma Prashikshan Completion Certificate number, and category.”

A committee will select exhibitors, and travel and accommodation expenses for those selected will be covered as per Government of India rules. The event will occur at the MSME-Development Office, 107 Industrial Asthan, Kalpi Road, Fazalganj, Kanpur. “

Artisans of the following 25 districts will be participating in the exhibition:

Ayodhya, Barabanki, Shahjahanpur, Basti, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Lucknow, Raebareli, Unnao, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Fatehpur.

These trades will be included:

Carpenter, boat maker, gunsmith, blacksmith, hammer toolkit maker, locksmith, goldsmith, potter, sculptor (stone carver), cobbler (cobbler)/shoemaker, mason, basket maker, doll and toy maker, barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor, and fishing net maker.
