Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Fund Sets Record: Over Rs. 321 Crore Disbursed in 2 Years and 2 Months
Mumbai : The Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Fund has set a significant record by providing financial assistance of over Rs. 321 crore, saving the lives of more than 40,000 critical patients over the past two years and two months.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the fund is directly supporting poor and needy patients by covering the costs of essential and expensive surgeries. Acting on the Chief Minister’s directive that no patient seeking help from his office should leave without assistance, the Medical Aid Fund has been actively disbursing aid. To date, over Rs. 292 crore has been allocated through the Ministry’s Mumbai office, while Rs. 28 crore has been distributed via the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology’s Nagpur office.
In an effort to make it easier for patients to receive aid, special steps have been taken by the Medical Aid Fund. Patients no longer need to visit the Ministry in Mumbai in person to apply for assistance. Applications are now available through a toll-free help desk number (8650567567), and can be submitted directly from a mobile device.
Additionally, both the empaneling of hospitals and the process of receiving financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Fund are completely free. Public awareness campaigns are being conducted to encourage more hospitals to join the scheme, ensuring more patients can benefit.
As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Medical Aid Fund now covers a wide range of treatments, including angioplasty, bypass surgery, cancer surgeries, chemotherapy, dialysis, cochlear implants for children born deaf, all types of organ transplants, surgeries for road accident victims, electrical accidents, burn victims, and congenital heart surgeries.
Mangesh Narsingh Chiwte, Head of the Chief Minister’s Medical Aid Fund, has urged patients suffering from chronic illnesses to take full advantage of the aid available through the fund.
