Total Rainfall in Maharashtra from 1st June to 4th September 2024: 1025.4 mm
Mumbai, 9th: According to records from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Maharashtra received a total of 1025.4 mm of rainfall between 1 June and 4 September 2024. Out of 36 districts in the state, 25 experienced above-average rainfall during this period. Hingoli is the only district with rainfall 31% below the long-term average. Among the 25 districts with above-average rainfall, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Sangli recorded the highest deviations, with 79% and 72% more rainfall than average, respectively.
The remaining 23 districts received 20% to 59% above the average rainfall. Notable examples include:
- Latur with 59% above average
- Pune with 55% above average
- Jalgaon with 50% above average
- Nashik and Beed with 48% above average
- Dhule with 47% above average
- Kolhapur with 46% above average
- Parbhani with 45% above average
Districts such as Mumbai city and suburbs, Thane, Raigad, Amravati, Akola, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gondia, and Bhandara received rainfall close to the long-term average.
