One Should Embrace the Teachings of Lord Buddha to Serve the World – Union Minority Minister Kiren Rijiju
Mumbai, Dt. 14: Buddhism emphasizes karma and advocates non-violence, compassion, and mercy. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju emphasized that adopting the teachings of Lord Buddha is essential for serving the world.
The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs organized a special conference titled “Buddha’s Middle Way – A Guide to Global Leadership” at the Nehru Science Centre in Mumbai. During the event, Rijiju was joined by National Commission for Minorities President Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Dr. Milind Kamble, and a significant number of bhikkhus and followers, including Damenda Porje.
Rijiju remarked that holding this conference in Maharashtra, a land of great significance, is particularly meaningful. He praised Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar for providing India with a constitution that ensures dignity for every individual.
He urged organizations working for minorities and Buddhism in Maharashtra to collaborate with the government to establish a constitution hall in each regional division of the state. Additionally, he called for the creation of study centers for minority communities and hostels for working women and students.
During the event, Mr. Lalpura, Mr. Kamble, and Mr. Porge acknowledged and appreciated the organization of the conference.
