Today, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma warmly welcomed about 55 citizens of Bastar, victims of Maoist violence, at his residence office, who had gone to Delhi with their anguish and problems. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that “Naxalites have blocked the path of development in every village of Bastar with IEDs. These IEDs do not recognize villagers or animals. Hundreds of people have become disabled in its blasts. Some have lost their legs, some have lost their eyes, and some have lost their hands. This Maoist violence is spreading terror in the villages. The Deputy Chief Minister said that all the people present here are questioning those human rights supporters who support the Naxalites. Why does no one discuss the pain of the people of Bastar? Why does no one speak about the lives of the villagers of Bastar? How long will this atrocity continue?”

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma also said that as per the resolution of Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai and Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah, Naxalism will be eradicated from Bastar and entire Chhattisgarh. Those who try to break the morale of the security forces should understand that this is not only an issue of Bastar but of the entire country. Naxalites are engaged in ruining the development of Bastar and the peace of the people and its retaliation has now become necessary.

During this, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma encouraged the victims of Bastar and assured them of standing firmly with them. He said that the people of Bastar are standing firmly against Maoist terror and the government will fight this battle with them with full strength.
