Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Inaugurates Development Projects Worth Rs. 1,420 Crore in Amravati
Amravati : Significant funds have been allocated for the development of Amravati city and its surrounding areas, which will enhance the city’s infrastructure and prestige. Projects worth Rs. 1,420 crore were inaugurated, and Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremonies) were performed on the same day. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar urged all involved to ensure the quality of these works.
The inauguration and Bhoomi Pujan of various development projects were held today at the District Planning Hall. In attendance were MLA Sulabha Khodke, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Nidhi Pandey, Collector Saurabh Katiyar, Chief Executive Officer Sanjita Mohapatra, Additional Collector Suraj Waghmare, Chief Engineer Girish Joshi, Municipal Commissioner Sachin Kalantre, and Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Rupa Girase, among others.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawar highlighted that a significant amount of tax revenue is generated by government departments and that infrastructural facilities are being developed to support these departments. The planned development projects will meet future needs. An auditorium with a seating capacity of 300 has been approved for Sarathi Sanstha, with accommodation for 500 students. Soon, all Sarathi centers in the state will have 500-seat auditoriums, with additional funds allocated for this purpose.
In a single day, various projects totaling Rs. 1,420 crore were inaugurated, and Bhoomi Pujan was performed. These developments will benefit citizens and contribute to improving their quality of life. The Amravati Municipal Corporation has increased its tax rates, and corrections in the software must be made so that tax receipts can be issued to citizens promptly, with a deadline set for October.
The government is rolling out several schemes for the overall development of the population, including the Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahin Yojana, free education for girls, post-12th scholarships, free electricity for farmers, and subsidies on milk and gas cylinders.
Institutions like Sarathi and Barti are being established to foster a conducive environment for studies, and advanced sports facilities are being developed at the divisional level. Athletes should take full advantage of these facilities. The state is also working to ensure that technical training for athletes will help produce more medal-winning players. Funds have been increased for sports complexes at divisional, district, and taluka levels, and these projects will be prioritized.
Notable projects that were inaugurated include the Amrut water supply scheme in Amravati, the divisional office of Sarathi, a hostel, the Lalkhadi railway flyover, Changapur Phata road, the divisional sports complex, and the district women’s hospital. Additionally, the inauguration of the Goods and Services Tax building, sports facilities at Vidarbha Gyan Vigyan Institute, the Excise Duty building, the beautification of Wadali Udyan, and the online Bhoomi Pujan for Nagarotthan Abhiyan projects were also held.
