Governor Shri Patel Addresses the Dialogue Programme for Bharia Tribal Community
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel addressed a dialogue program organized for the Bharia tribal community in Sidhauli village, emphasizing the efforts of both central and state governments to promote the development of every tribal individual. He highlighted that through the Prime Minister’s Jan-Man Scheme, special attention is being given to backward tribes across the country, including in Madhya Pradesh. Launched as a nationwide campaign, the scheme aims to provide essential infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water, schools, and Anganwadi centers in the settlements of special backward tribes like the Baiga, Bharia, and Sahariya in Madhya Pradesh. Governor Patel noted that these families are being ensured access to key welfare schemes, helping them lead simpler lives while integrating into mainstream society.
Need for Awareness on Sickle Cell Disease
Governor Shri Patel emphasized the need for widespread awareness to eliminate Sickle Cell Anemia. For its effective prevention and management, every community and individual must participate in this service to humanity. The Governor noted that the central government has set a target to eradicate TB by 2025 and Sickle Cell Anemia by 2047, and to achieve this, everyone must come forward and support the government’s efforts.
The Governor explained that Sickle Cell Anemia is a hereditary disease, and to eradicate it, families need to be counseled and screened. Pregnant women should be tested for their family’s medical history when visiting Anganwadi centers. Additionally, periodic screening for Sickle Cell Anemia in children should be conducted in primary, secondary, higher secondary schools, and colleges. He also informed about the various programs and policy measures being undertaken by the central and state governments for the elimination of Sickle Cell Anemia.
Educate Every Child
Governor Shri Patel encouraged the community to ensure that all children receive education, stating that education is the path to progress in society. He emphasized that lack of money should no longer be an obstacle to education, as numerous schemes are being run by the central and state governments to support students in their educational pursuits.
The Governor also explained the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and Ujjwala Yojana. Local MP Shri Vivek Bunty Sahu spoke about the efforts being made in the district to implement the Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Program and the Prime Minister’s Jan-Man Scheme. He mentioned that special health camps are being organized throughout the district for the identification and treatment of Sickle Cell Anemia patients. Amarwara MLA Shri Kamlesh Pratap Shah and former Chairperson of Bharia Development Authority, Smt. Urmila Bharti, also addressed the program.
Distributed benefits under various schemes
Governor Shri Patel symbolically distributed books to children preparing for JEE and NEET exams, as well as benefits under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, Swamitva Yojana, and Soil Health Cards, among other self-employment schemes.
Visited Health Camp at Primary Health Center Chindi
Governor Shri Patel visited the Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Camp at the Primary Health Center in village Chindi, Tamia block of Chhindwara district. He inspected the camp’s arrangements and interacted with the villagers who came for screening, encouraging them. The Governor also inspected the primary health center, observing its OPD, general ward, storeroom, teleconsultation room, and other medical facilities. He spoke with children undergoing treatment and their families, urging them to take necessary medicines under the doctors’ supervision and stay motivated for treatment.
He advised Sickle Cell-affected children to practice regular yoga and exercise, emphasizing the importance of nutritious home-cooked food and simple, sattvic meals. He also warned against the consumption of fast food and other oily foods.
Interaction with Children and Nursing Mothers at Anganwadi Center
Governor Shri Patel visited the Anganwadi Center at Baddadhana Chindi, interacting with the children and nursing mothers. He apprised himself about the children registered at the center and the nutritional diet provided by the department. He also observed a nutrition diet exhibition at the center and distributed toffees to the children and gifts to the nursing mothers. The Governor instructed the department staff to conduct regular health check-ups for pregnant women, adolescents, and children, providing necessary advice and treatment.

A creative boundary wall has been made using old wood, bamboo, and tiles. A well, pots, and seating areas have been constructed using old tires, bamboo, and barrels. A beautiful, well-decorated footpath has been built using bricks and tiles. Old bicycles have been painted and displayed as showpieces in the park. Artistic sculptures have been created using iron materials. Comfortable seating areas have been prepared by reusing old benches. The park has been made not only decorative but also eco-friendly by creatively using discarded items.
