Water-employment festival will be held in Gangrel on 5-6 October

On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, various activities are being carried out to make people aware of the unexpected fall in ground water level in the state during summers. Jal-Jagar Mahotsav program is being organized on the banks of the life-giving Mahanadi in Gangrel of Dhamtari district on 5-6 October. In this program, Abhishek will be done with the water of 108 Amrit Sarovar and percolation tanks of the district. Along with this, people will be encouraged to give their full contribution in water conservation.

Various programs are being organized in Dhamtari district to increase the ground water level, conserve water and environment. In which people of many villages including Parastarai, Navagaon, Thuha of the district are voluntarily coming forward to promote water conservation. For water conservation, water conservation related structures have been built around taps and reservoirs here, as well as rain water harvesting systems have also been installed. Women of the village are also coming forward for water conservation. Bihaan women, Nari Shakti to Jal Shakti, Green Army and rural women made people aware through rallies, wall writings, competitions. Apart from officers and employees, social, voluntary organizations are also contributing in all these programs.

Villagers of Parastarai village of Dhamtari district unanimously came forward to cultivate pulses, oilseeds, vegetables for water and environment conservation. At the same time, trees were named after the daughters of the villages, and a pledge was taken to protect them by tying Raksha Sutra on those trees. Programs were organized in the direction of water conservation in the entire district.
