A “Chintan Shibir” was organized at IIM Ahmedabad for senior officials and employees of the Chief Minister’s Office

One-Day Chintan Shibir Included Sessions on Time and Stress Management, Artificial Intelligence, Emotional Intelligence, Digitalization, Team Building, and Communication


Gandhinagar : Inaugurating the one-day Chintan Shibir at IIM Ahmedabad for officers and employees of the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasised the significance of developing a reflective mindset. The CM accentuated the necessity of critically evaluating our actions from time to time.

The Chief Minister elaborated on the concepts of ‘Karmayogi’ and ‘Chintan Shibir,’ given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which highlights the importance of thoughtful consideration in our work. The CM pointed out that meditation helps to cultivate a habit of continuous improvement in our work, noting that challenges often stem from a lack of reflection. He urged everyone to focus on their tasks and approaches rather than making comparisons with others. The Chief Minister affirmed that there is no age limit to learning, studying, or acquiring knowledge, reiterating that the core philosophy of the Chintan Shibir is rooted in this understanding. The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of harmonizing service and value effectively. He acknowledged that the behaviour of those who work in the Chief Minister’s Office is closely observed throughout the state, underscoring the crucial responsibility that comes with this role. “Your actions directly reflect the reputation of the CM’s office,” remarked the CM. He also noted that public expectations are increasing as times evolve, emphasizing the need for everyone to be sufficiently prepared to address these challenges. “We are presented with a unique opportunity to serve the people,” he stated. “As accountable trustees, we must exemplify service values in all that we do.”

In her welcome speech at the Chintan Shibir, Secretary to the Chief Minister Smt. Avantika Singh emphasized that team bonding is enhanced through learning and sharing during the sessions. Given the pivotal role of the Chief Minister’s Office, cultivating a pro-active and pro-people approach among all officers and employees can be effectively achieved through Chintan Shibir. Reflecting on the previous Chintan Shibir, the Secretary noted that it significantly boosted everyone’s energy, leading to positive improvements in both preparedness and attitude. In these changing times, fulfilling the expectations of the Chief Minister’s Office requires a commitment to preparedness, teamwork, and a proactive approach amidst numerous uncertainties and challenges. She expressed optimism that this Chintan Shibir would yield fruitful outcomes in this regard.

A session on Time and Stress Management was led by Shri Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister and Vice Chairman of SOUL. During the session, Shri Hasmukh Adhia highlighted the importance of family relationships, sufficient sleep, meditation, and an understanding of karma principles while suggesting practical stress management tips. He also introduced the PORT (Possessions, Obligations, Relations, and Transactions) theory. Concluding the Chintan Shibir, Shri Additional Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi and Shri M.K. Das shared their insights and experiences, expressing confidence that this one-day Chintan Shibir would be advantageous for the officials of the Chief Minister’s Office and the employees in improving their work and efficiency.

Senior officials and staff from the Chief Minister’s Office enthusiastically participated in the Chintan Shibir, which was organized in partnership with IIM Ahmedabad and the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL). Prof. Dr. Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, attended the event. The Shibir was hosted by Ms Prerna from SOUL. The Chintan Shibir included a range of sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, emotional intelligence, digitalization, team building, and communication.
