Exhibition was the centre of attraction at the Swachhata Diwas programme venue
The exhibition, sanitation equipment and Triple-R on Wheels were the centre of attraction in the Swachhata programme held at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal. The Swachhata Diwas programme was held under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. After reaching the venue, the Chief Minister observed the equipment used in the cleaning work of Municipal Corporation Bhopal, Triple-R on Wheels and materials made using unused items.
Triple-R on Wheels
Items were displayed on Triple-R on Wheels at the venue. Rekha Khare, Vishakha were sitting on this vehicle with a sewing machine. They told that till now three centres of Triple-R i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle are continuously operating at Boat Club, Number 10 Bus Stop and Vitthal Market in Bhopal. Municipal Corporation Bhopal has now made this facility a mobile service with a vehicle. Rekha tells that through mobile vehicles, people will be advised not to use polythene and bags will be made from unused clothes given by the public. Rekha tells that there is a system of collecting waste electrical goods and different wastes in a scientific way. Along with this, covers of copies and books and decoration material is prepared from other waste material. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised this.
Sushri Aruna Singh is making toys from a start-up company
Sushri Aruna Singh was also present at the exhibition site. She told that her start-up company is providing eco-friendly toys to children in Bhopal. 20 people are employed in her company. Most of her toys are made from wood only. Plastic is not used in them. She tells that she makes many toys for children to learn alphabets, maps for geographical knowledge and for brain exercise through toys. She has done engineering from Jabalpur Engineering College. Sushri Aruna wanted to start her own business, so she thought of launching a start-up company and is now running the company successfully.
Exhibition of items made from PM Swa-Nidhi
Women of self-help groups benefiting from the PM Swa-Nidhi scheme displayed items at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre. Sushri Preeti Rao displayed Zardozi items prepared using the ancient craftsmanship of Bhopal. She says that this work is famous all over India. She told that her group has set up a stall at Rani Kamlapati Station in Bhopal in the ‘One Product – One Railway Station’ programme. Passengers are showing great appreciation for the Zardozi items displayed at the stall. Along with them, women from other self-help groups displayed artificial jewellery, food items and handloom clothes. Today, a large number of women in the state are joining self-help groups and making them financially self-reliant. Items prepared from coconut and jute were also displayed at the exhibition site.
