Mla Pu Jeje Lalpekhluan Chaired “One Day Seminar On Cyber Crime Programme” In Hnahthial District
Hnahthial : Today, at 11:00 AM, the Mizoram Journalist Association (MJA) General Headquarters, in collaboration with the Home Department, organized a “One Day Seminar on Cyber Crime Programme” at Horeb Conference Hall in Hnahthial District. The seminar was chaired by South Tuipui MLA, Pu Jeje Lalpekhluan.
During the seminar, MLA Pu Jeje Lalpekhluan emphasized the critical importance of addressing ‘Cyber Crime’ in today’s digital age. He noted that the MJA and the Home Department are committed to raising awareness and providing guidance on this issue. He highlighted that social media has become a double-edged sword, posing risks while offering benefits. The discussion included the rise of fake accounts and the potential dangers they present to individuals, stressing the need for awareness and preventive measures.
He urged participants to utilize various social media platforms and internet facilities responsibly and to recognize the importance of being vigilant against cyber threats. The seminar also served to reinforce the role of the media as an essential partner in educating the public about these issues.
In addition, MJA members discussed the importance of journalism in society, with an emphasis on the need for ethical reporting and the responsibilities that come with it. Media plays a crucial role in disseminating accurate information, and it is vital for journalists to adhere to high standards.
The seminar featured remarks from Pu C. Lalrambuatsaiha, President of MJA Headquarters, who welcomed attendees. Reports were presented by Pu K. Zothanpara, General Secretary of MJA General Headquarters, and Pu V.L. Liansanga, Secretary of Hnahthial District MJA. Additionally, Pu Zonunsanga, Additional SP of CID Crime, provided insights into various aspects of Cyber Crime.
This seminar follows a similar event held on October 7, 2024, in Serchhip District, which was also attended by MLA and Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma. The initiative aims to strengthen awareness and preventive measures against cyber crime across Hnahthial District and beyond.
