05 tractors caught while illegally transporting sand

Under the investigation campaign conducted to prevent illegal transportation and storage of sand in Mahasamund district, the team of the Mineral Department caught 5 tractors. Illegal transportation of sand was being done by these tractors. The tractors have been seized. Under the guidance of Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh, the team of the Mineral Department seized 05 tractor vehicles illegally transporting sand in village Kanekera Bhalesar and handed them over to the custody of City Kotwali Police Station.

The Mineral Department has taken action to cancel three storage licenses approved for violation of Chhattisgarh Mineral (Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules 2009 in sand storage, as well as to confiscate the security amount of Rs. 1 lakh 50 thousand. Penalty has been imposed on 6 license holders for violation of storage license storage rules approved by the Mineral Department and a total amount of Rs. 4 lakh 13 thousand has been deposited by them.
