More than 200 Japanese CEOs to explore new investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, Yamanashi delegation finalises preparations

Proposed five-day visit in August to provide fresh momentum to cooperation in manufacturing, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and tourism

Lucknow, July 2026 : Uttar Pradesh is set to host one of Japan’s largest business delegations next month. More than 200 Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) from Japan and Yamanashi Prefecture will visit Uttar Pradesh on a five-day tour beginning on August 19. The objective of the visit is to explore investment opportunities in the state and further strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

To finalise preparations for the proposed visit, a 12-member high-level delegation from Yamanashi Prefecture, led by Narendra Upadhyay, Advisor to the Yamanashi Government, visited the Invest UP office in Lucknow. The visit is being viewed as a significant extension of the dialogue and agreements reached between the two sides following the recent visit of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Japan, and it is expected to provide fresh momentum to investment, industrial cooperation, and long-term partnership.

The meeting was chaired by Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Deepak Kumar. Invest UP Chief Executive Officer Vijay Kiran Anand and Additional Chief Executive Officer Shashank Chaudhary were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, meetings between the Japanese delegation and senior state government officials, industry representatives, other stakeholders, as well as business-to-business (B2B) meetings, will be organised. These meetings will include detailed discussions on opportunities for cooperation and investment in sectors such as manufacturing, green hydrogen, renewable energy, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), automobiles, food processing, skill development, and human resource exchange. During the visit, new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Comfort (LoCs), and the facilitation of land allotment for various investment projects are also expected.

During the visit, the delegation also met Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh. The meeting included discussions on further strengthening tourism and cultural cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi. Opportunities for investment in modern tourism infrastructure development, improved connectivity, and hospitality and wellness tourism were also discussed.
