Baran District to Set an Example in Cleanliness, All Schools Will Be 100% Plastic-Free — Education and Panchayati Raj Minister
State Government’s Aim – Provide a Roof for Every Nomadic Family
Jaipur : Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Mr. Madan Dilawar conducted a review meeting with district-level officials at the Mini Secretariat auditorium in Baran on Friday. During the meeting, he reviewed various ongoing development works in the district, including the distribution of land leases to nomadic and semi-nomadic families, the cleanliness drive, tree plantation, schemes of the Panchayati Raj and Education Departments, the Mid-Day Meal program, food security, and the status of seasonal diseases. He also discussed the shortage of fertilizers with the concerned officials.
Land Lease Distribution for Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities
During the meeting, Mr. Dilawar distributed land leases to 10 beneficiaries from the nomadic and semi-nomadic communities and interacted with them. District Collector Rohitash Singh Tomar informed that 1,266 families have been identified in the district, out of which 751 have been provided land leases. Mr. Dilawar emphasized that the state government’s goal is to ensure that every family has a roof over their head and that no eligible person is left out of this scheme. He directed the officials to relaunch the survey campaign to identify any remaining families.
Rajasthan Will Become the Cleanest State in the Country
Mr. Dilawar reviewed the progress of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” (Cleanliness is Service) campaign, expressing the state’s ambition to make Rajasthan the cleanest state in the country within the next two years. He instructed the relevant officials to launch awareness campaigns and expected Baran district to emerge as a model. He assured that there is ample funding available for the cleanliness campaign and directed the officials to work in a mission mode to make the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a success.
All Schools Will Be 100% Plastic-Free
Mr. Dilawar announced that efforts should be made to make all schools in the district 100% plastic-free. He discussed the harmful effects of polythene and plastic and emphasized the need to conduct awareness campaigns to control their usage.
Intensive Tree Plantation – ‘Hariyalo Mharo Baran’ Campaign
The Panchayati Raj Minister praised the progress of the tree plantation drive “Hariyalo Mharo Baran,” where the district administration has done commendable work in planting millions of trees. He highlighted that India has a low number of trees per capita, and intensive tree plantation is the solution. He suggested that where there are over 200 plants, a person could be appointed for their upkeep under the MGNREGA scheme.
Review of Education Department Schemes
Mr. Dilawar reviewed the implementation of various schemes under the Education Department, directing officials to ensure effective execution of residential school programs, the free bicycle scheme, the Mid-Day Meal scheme, and the Pannadhay Bal Gopal scheme. He also instructed teachers to remain on the school premises during school hours.
