27th All India Forest Sports Maha Kumbh: Chhattisgarh state ranks first by winning 108 medals

The closing ceremony of the 27th All India Forest Sports Competition being held in Chhattisgarh is being held on 20 October at Swami Vivekanand Stadium, Kota, Raipur. In this forest sports competition, like last year, this year also Chhattisgarh State Forest Department has secured the first position by winning the maximum number of medals. Till the time of writing this report, Chhattisgarh has secured the top position with 57 gold, 28 silver, 23 bronze medals, with a total of 108 medals and 435 points. At the same time, the teams of Kerala and Madhya Pradesh have secured the second and third positions respectively in the medal table.

It is worth mentioning that about 3000 players from 29 states, 08 union territories, 06 forestry institutes and officers and employees of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change participated in this competition, which included about 584 female and 2320 male players. Individual and group games of 300 disciplines of 23 games like athletics, badminton, lawn tennis, weightlifting, carrom, swimming, archery, kabaddi, cricket, football, volleyball were organized among the participants. Competition was held among the participants of forest department from all over the country. Each participant gave a tough challenge to his opponent in the competition. A total of 1200 medals of gold, silver and bronze respectively will be awarded to the participants who performed excellently.

 The 27th All India Forest Sports Competition saw the players hone their sports skills and also respect each other for different cultures, thoughts and feelings. This event was not only a festival of competition but also a celebration of brotherhood, hard work and collective unity. Olympic medalist Ms. Manu Bhaker, shooter, will be specially present in this closing ceremony to encourage the players and create awareness about sports.

 Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of Khel Mahakumbh. Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap will preside over the program and Assam State Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patwari, Uttarakhand State Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal, Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, Raipur West MLA Shri Rajesh Munat, Raipur North MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Raipur Rural MLA Shri Moti Lal Sahu along with Forest Department officers and employees will be present at the closing ceremony as special guests.
