Soybean procurement at support price should be done with sensitivity : Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that procurement of soybean at support price will start at 1400 centers from Friday. All concerned officers should ensure procurement with sensitivity. He said that the state government will procure soybean in addition to the quantity determined by the central government.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the process of registration of farmers was done on the e-procurement portal in the state from September 25 to October 20, in which 3 lakh 44 thousand farmers have got themselves registered. The number of procurement centers can also be changed as per requirement. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that payment for soybean purchased at support price will be made online to the farmers. Soybean will be procured everywhere in the state except in seven districts including Datia, Bhind, Katni, Mandla, Balaghat, Sidhi, and Singrauli. Soybean procurement from these districts will be considered only when proposals come these districts.

The last date for purchase of soybean at support price is till 31 December 2024. The minimum support price has been fixed at Rs 4892 per quintal. Officials have been instructed to purchase soybean of average and good quality. Instructions have been given to the concerned officers and employees to be present at the procurement centres, so that soybean can be procured systematically.

For the first time in the state, soybean is being procured under the price support scheme. For this, the Agriculture Department is the nodal department and Markfed has been designated as the state procurement agency. The e-procurement portal is being used for the purchase of soybean. Farmers will be paid for selling soybean produce online.
